FAQ's - Frequently Asked Questions
- Do your condos have balconies? Our indoor balconies definitely extend from the building for an unsurpassed view! Rather than having screens, or rails, our balconies have windows that open. They are blended into the living room. In other buildings, you have to go through a sliding glass door before you can see outside -- in our building, you can see outside all the way from the kitchen! Also, you can sit and enjoy the view, the breeze, the sunset, etc. in a comfortable chair on a tiled or carpeted floor rather than on a plastic chair on a concrete slab. If you are a smoker, you can smoke in the covered hall outside your front door or anywhere else outside of our building, including our massive picnic deck downstairs, but PLEASE do NOT smoke inside of the condo to avoid a $250 fee.
- What time is check-in & check-out? Check-in time is 4:00 PM. We try to have condos ready by 3:00 PM. Most Saturdays there are 20 or more units we are trying to get ready for arriving guests. Please do not call or show up early, as it may actually delay our process of getting the condos ready. Check-out time is 10:00 AM. Late check outs will result in a $50 charge against your departure/cleaning deposit. *** LATE ARRIVAL procedures: We have a mailbox onsite where we place your keys and directions. So no worries if you have a late flight or get caught in traffic. For arrivals after 5:00 PM, just let us know and we will give you our "After Hour Procedures" for picking up your keys and gaining access to your vacation condo.
- What do "Plan A" and "Plan B" mean? The Plan A units are also frequently called the "end" or "corner" units. They end in "01" or "07". Plan A units have extra windows facing North or South for a fantastic view. Because the layout is different to make space for these windows, both bedrooms are on the pool courtyard side of the building rather than facing the beach. Plan B units have a split bedroom plan where the master bedroom is directly on the beach. Some guests strongly prefer one plan over the other, and other guests do not have a strong preference, since each plan has advantages.
- Do you allow pets? Sorry, no. No exceptions, as per the association's written policies. Even owners who are permanent residents at Madeira Vista are not allowed to have any pets.
- Are the condos facing the water & are they actually on the beach? Definitely. ALL of our condos are DIRECTLY on the beautiful beach. We are the CLOSEST building to the shoreline. Every living room window faces the Gulf and all of our floor plan "B" condos have a master bedroom that faces the Gulf as well. Check out the pictures! You will have the sand between your toes the second you step off of our deck!
- Do you allow smoking in the units? No. All of the condos are non-smoking units. You can smoke in the covered hall in front of your condo or anywhere else outside. Please use the provided ashtrays and do not litter our beautiful beach.
- Can I rent for less than a week? Sorry, our association rules require a weekly minimum rental. We must block out (and charge for a week) even if you decide to leave "early". Sometimes people will rent a week and stay five or six days because our rates are so good!
- Do I have to rent Saturday-to-Saturday? Why? During the busy seasons, we are on a strict Sat - Sat schedule. Otherwise, because of our weekly minimum requirement (see above), the owner of the condo will be essentially renting two weeks for the price of one because they will not be allowed to rent the partial weeks that a midweek arrival/departure creates on "each side" of the stay. During the slower season, we are VERY flexible. Please call or Email with any specific questions.
- Can I rent for more than a week? Multiple week Sat - Sat rentals usually come with a discount. Just ask! (More specific info is on the "rates and policies" page.) If you want 10 days, for example, that is not a problem in the off-seasons but would not be available during the busy season.
- What do you provide? What should we bring? Our kitchens are well-stocked with the basics. Each unit will have a microwave, coffeemaker, and the silverware/glassware/plates, cookware etc. that a stocked kitchen should have. Linens and towels are provided. The two things that we recommend you personally bring are beach towels and a hair dryer.
- Do you have a crib/highchair/etc. available? We do not. But we do have an excellent working relationship with a family-owned company that rents travel packages for your little ones and very good rates. Not only do they have cribs and highchairs, but also bassinets, toys, and lots of other options! They will deliver before you arrive, and pick up after you leave.
